“School lab” first time in Greece

The Greek National Research Institution organized the Festival of Science and Technology «FEST1», during which well-known Greek and foreign scientists and researchers talked about the latest technology and modern scientific and technological inventions.

The Festival of Science and Technology FEST11 took place between 15 and 18 of December, in the auditorium "Leonidas Zervas" of the Greek National Research Institution.

The morning events were designed mainly for students who could participate through organized tour guides, while in parallel seminars were organized for teachers, researchers and students.

The program concluded with the final contest «School Lab» for the use of science in schools, which was organized this year for the first time in Greece, in cooperation with the i-create team of the Educational Broadcasting of the Ministry of Education. The final took place on the 18^th of December and the winners will travel to Cheltenham Science Festival of Britain.

The whole project was a collaboration of British Council in cooperation with the  Greek Nation Research Institution.

259 groups of pupils from 74 schools participated at “School Lab”. The children chose a scientific subject, worked on it and showed their videos. The videos in the competition were of very high quality, full of imagination, creativity, fun and of course a lot of science
