Teachers should know many different types of data. One of them is the "productivity tool" (

The modern "word processor" is a "multimedia tool". Teachers with this "multimedia tool" can create an attractive environment and they provide a varitey of different materials. Every teacher should learn how to use it well. Also, "every teacher also should know how to capture numerical data in a spreadsheet, use formulas to manipulate that data, and display it in charts and graphs. Every teacher should be familiar with presentation software such as PowerPoint not because presentation tools make great slide shows for teachers, but because they make great slide shows for students." (Poole, 2012).
Also, teachers should know the "Drawing tools", combined with other productivity tools, which are invaluable for spicing up handouts, worksheets, slides, and the like. (Poole, 2012).

  1. Hi Magdalini,

  2. Although some teachers are very willing to make use of technology in their instruction, the facilities of the school you work sometimes don't let you do it. Also, while I was teaching in Turkey, our biggest technical assistants were computer teachers at school. But, when you live a technical problem, it means that you lose most of your class hour to cope with it even with technical help.

  3. The use of technology is vitally important in education today. However, there are many problems that hinder it to be enjoyed by all teachers and learners in all spheres of education. In my country, many privately owned schools do not dare to bring in technology in the classroom but prefer to use it as an extension of their business. For example, establishing cyber cafes within the school premises.

There is the lack of willingness to equip teachers already in service with technological know-how. On the other hand, others resist change. Last but not the least financial constrains make it difficult for individual teachers to make use of existing technology.
